Scotland does not use the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Instead, Home Energy Scotland offers a grant of up to £7,500 for a heat pump (£9,000 in rural areas) plus an optional interest-free loan of a similar amount on top, funded by the Scottish Government. ECO4 also covers Scotland and can fully fund work for households on qualifying benefits.
Scotland runs its own, stronger package than England, so the advice is different. We do not yet work with installers in Scotland, so this page points you to the right place rather than taking your details.

Why Scotland is different
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers England and Wales only. Scotland has its own route through Home Energy Scotland, and it is more generous: a grant of up to £7,500 for a heat pump, £9,000 in rural areas, plus an optional interest-free loan on top. That combination beats anything on offer south of the border.
Call Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 or search for their grant and loan service. It is free, government-funded advice, and it is the right first call.
Low-income households
If you are on a low income, look at Warmer Homes Scotland and at ECO4, which covers Scotland and can fully fund a boiler, heat pump or insulation for households on qualifying benefits. Scheme rules change, so confirm the current position with Home Energy Scotland.
Where in Scotland this applies
Home Energy Scotland, Warmer Homes Scotland and ECO4 cover the whole of Scotland. We do not arrange installs here, but the schemes apply across:
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife, the Highlands, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Perth and Kinross, Stirling, and everywhere in between.
