Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

This policy explains how Boiler Grant Check Ltd ("we", "us") handles your personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We have written it in plain English because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who is the data controller

Boiler Grant Check Ltd, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. Contact for anything data-related: hello@boilergrantcheck.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • Eligibility answers (heating type, home ownership, location, first half of postcode, benefits received, income band). Used to work out which grant fits you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering the question you asked, and consent when you submit them with an enquiry.
  • Contact details (name, email, phone) only if you submit the enquiry form. Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking an unticked box whose exact wording we store.
  • Consent records (the exact consent text shown to you, the time, the page URL and your IP address). Legal basis: legal obligation, as we must be able to demonstrate consent under UK GDPR Article 7.

Who we share it with

When you consent, we share your contact details and eligibility answers with up to 3 heating installers who are MCS-certified or TrustMark-registered and cover your area, so they can contact you about your enquiry by phone or email. We do not sell your details to anyone else, we do not share them with data brokers, and Scottish waitlist emails are shared with no one.

Our processors: Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (website hosting). Both under UK GDPR-compliant terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiry and consent records: 24 months from your enquiry, then deleted. Waitlist emails: until we email you or you ask us to remove you, whichever is sooner.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop processing it, and you can withdraw consent at any time (which stops any further sharing, though installers we have already introduced hold your details as independent controllers). Email hello@boilergrantcheck.co.uk and we act within one month. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
